The Best Restaurants in the Country

Throughout my travels around the United States, I am learning more about the different food staples and delicacies in each city. Since the United States is the best country to do a road trip in, I decided to share some of the best foodie spots in each city I have visited thus far. Check out my favorite restaurants below and head over there if you are ever in the area!

Mystic Pizza, Mystic, CT

Mystic is a charming and quaint town on the Connecticut coast. It is here where the famous Mystic Pizza is located. What made this family-owned tavern famous was when Hollywood came to town in the 80s. Screenwriter Amy Jones chose the restaurant as the focus and setting for her story that featured Julia Roberts. The film Mystic Pizza hit theaters in 1988 and became a classic favorite. It is here where you could now enjoy a delicious personal pizza while having a good ole’ time!

Reading Terminal, Philadelphia, PA

Reading Terminal in Philly is an indoor farmer’s market and foodie haven! It is at this great spot where you could find Pennsylvania grown produce, locally sourced meats, fresh seafood, cheeses, baked goods and so much more! You could also find ramen stands and of course, the famous Philly cheesesteak!

Founding Farmers, Washington DC

Located near the White House, Founding Farmers is one of DC’s leading farm-to-table restaurants that offers high-quality food that is both delicious and grown with care. DC is one of the leading cities in the U.S. to “brunch” in and there is no better place to have a fulfilling breakfast or lunch at Founding Farmers.

Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA

As one of the country’s most beloved public markets and an icon in the city of Seattle, Pike Place Market is an astonishing place where you could find everything from beautiful flower stands to delicious bakeries. In addition to food, there is so much entertainment surrounding this amazing market!

The Roadhouse, Wilmington, VT

Over the years, I have been annually visiting the Southern Vermont ski resort of Mount Snow. Each year, I always enjoy having dinner at The Roadhouse – a Vermont farmhouse that offers locally grown food and a warm atmosphere. There is nothing like enjoying a comforting meal at this welcoming place, especially after a long day skiing in the mountains.

Clink, The Liberty Hotel, Boston, MA

Over this past year, my cousin Alexie (of Travels with Lexy) and I visited Boston for a weekend. We stayed at the famous Liberty Hotel and enjoyed one of the best brunches at Clink – a restaurant located inside the hotel. Since The Liberty Hotel used to be a prison, the restaurant features restored jail details and some of the best food and drink options. As a bonus, Clink has a Bloody Mary bar!
